Dick Bothmer
Dick Bothmer is a veteran science teacher of elementary and middle schoolers in the United States and Guam, with many years as a science consultant to such distinguished clients as the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. and Biosphere II in Oracle, Arizona. He was part of the research efforts to measure the effects of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill in Alaska, as well as the Portland and Rhode Island oil spills. He has been part of marine mammal rescues and necropsies as well as a consultant to the Rookery Bay Marine Estuary Research Center in Florida. He is a passionate scientist and a gifted teacher with the knack of getting students excited about the world around them. His students never look at things the same after he’s through with them!
