Polly can work with your key staff on how to conduct effective FBAs that provide:
- clear descriptions of behaviors expected as manifestations of the disability;
- clear descriptions of causal factors for behaviors that interfere in the student’s functioning in school;
- an evaluation framework for the appropriateness of program and placement; and
- data and guidelines for developing:
- goals and objectives within the IEP to manage and change behaviors;
- school-based environmental modifications;
- recommended instructional approaches and/or formats, and teaching materials; and
- strategies for teaching student-centered self-compensating skills.
