Ethics of Working with Living Organisms

This timely topic is a daily dilemma for field scientists. It is a frequent subject of late night discussions in the ship’s galley. Often we must decide what lives and what dies, and for what reason.

What is a Scientist-in-Residence?
A Scientist-in-Residence is a scientist who comes to your school and works directly with students for a day or longer. Residencies are available throughout the entire school year for 5th – 12th grades. The usual residency consists of Mr. Bothmer working with three or four classes and conducting a seminar for special interest groups or individuals. Class sessions will last for approximately one hour each (this format is flexible and can be designed to meet your particular needs).
